Wade’s missed free throws lose the game for Heat, put him with Wallace and Chamberlain

From Elias: Dwyane Wade also took a page from Wilt Chamberlain’s handbook by going 4-for-11 from the free-throw line in Miami’s 89-87 loss. Wade was the first NBA player to miss as many as seven foul shots in a playoff game that his team lost by two or fewer points since the Pistons’ Ben Wallace missed all seven of his free throws in an 86-84 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the Conference Semifinals in 2006. Chamberlain did that three times in such close playoff losses, the most for any NBA player.

No Wade, no Bosh = no problem for the Heat

From Elias: LeBron James scored 32 points to lead the undermanned Heat to a 97-88 victory over the Rockets. It was the fifth game that Miami has played without both Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh since the “Big Three” joined forces with the club, and the Heat has won each of those games with James averaging 34.3 PPG in those triumphs.

Miami’s win is more than a mere technicality

From Elias: James Jones and Dwyane Wade were called for flagrant fouls, while Wade and LeBron James were also whistled for technical fouls in the Heat’s 83-72 home win over the Bulls. The last team to win a game despite having two flagrants and two technicals called against its players was the Mavericks on Jan. 9, 2007. In that game at Utah, Jerry Stackhouse was called for two flagrant fouls and a tech, and teammate Anthony Johnson, who didn’t even play in the game, was also called for a technical.
