Warriors rookies shine versus defending champs

From Elias: Klay Thompson scored 26 points and Charles Jenkins had 10 assists in the Warriors’ loss to the Mavericks on Friday night. It’s the first time this season that a rookie scored 25 points while a rookie teammate recorded 10 assists in the same game. And no rookie tandem had done that against the defending NBA champion since April 15, 1989 when the Clippers’ Charles Smith (26 points) and Gary Grant (25 points and 15 assists) did so versus the Lakers.

Gasol records a flawless triple-double

From Elias: Pau Gasol registered 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists and did not commit a turnover in the Lakers’ win over Golden State on Wednesday night. It is the third time that Gasol has recorded a triple-double without a turnover in his career (he also did that on February 17, 2009 and November 7, 2010). Only two other active players have done that at least three times: Jason Kidd (five) and Grant Hill (three).
